Thigh Lift Houston with Dr. Chris Livingston
Thigh lift surgery, also known as thighplasty, is helpful for those patients who want a more toned appearance in the thighs after experiencing the effects of aging or significant weight loss.
Although diet and exercise routines can help patients to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, they may not be able to reduce stubborn fatty deposits or areas of excess skin. Dr. Livingston frequently performs thigh lift surgery and recommends this treatment for patients who meet the following criteria:
- Excess soft tissue and fatty deposits along the inner or outer thighs
- Excess skin along the inner or outer thighs
- A stable, healthy weight
If the inner and outer thighs are your concern, Dr. Livingston can tighten, sculpt, and reshape these areas to complement your new slimmer figure.
Procedural Steps: What to Expect with a Thighplasty
Depending on the patient’s aesthetic goals, general anesthesia is necessary when performing an inner and/or outer thighplasty. Incisions will be placed in the groin that may extend down the inner part of the upper thigh. Through this incision, the excess skin and sagging tissue may be removed and tightened for a firmer appearance.
For patients that request sculpting of the outer thighs, an incision is made in the groin which extends around the hips. Once again, excess fat and skin are removed and tissue redraped.
If needed, both surgeries may be combined for an overall tighter, toned appearance in the thigh and hip region. Most clothing and swimsuits can hide the scars which are placed within the curvatures of the body.
The Results from Cosmetic Thigh Surgery
Although the patient may endure some initial swelling and bruising, results from an inner and outer thigh lift are usually immediate. A compression garment will be placed on the patient for several weeks following surgery to ensure that the tissues heal to their new contour, and that swelling resolves.
Most patients can return to work within 2 weeks and should limit exercise for six weeks. The final shape of the thighs is present several months after the surgery and may be long-lasting if the patient continues a healthy lifestyle. The thighplasty patient will experience improved skin quality, tighter and toner thighs, and better-fitting clothing with a renewed confidence in his or her image.
